Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At AIS we have been working hard to implement some CSR (Corporate Social Responsibility) initiatives to include:
•    Sustainability Forum – This group of team members regularly meet to discuss ideas on how we as a business, and on a personal level, can be more environmentally friendly. We have introduced initiatives to reduce plastic consumption in the office and encourage recycling and composting.
•    Culture Clubs – In order to facilitate the wide group of interests among our team members and provide an opportunity to try new things we introduced the AIS Food Club, Travel Club, Movie Club and Book Club.
•    Health, Wellness & Wellbeing – We regularly run challenges e.g. step challenge/distance challenge to encourage team members to keep active. We also take part in local sporting activities e.g. Quest Challenge. •    Charity Work/Volunteering – We like to dedicate any fitness challenges we do to certain charities. We also organise team litter picks/beach cleaning and other volunteering activities.

Junior Controls Engineer (in-house)


Details: Full time, permanent, Monday to Friday
Location: Dublin, Ireland
Industry: Automation / Special Purpose Machinery
 
We are seeking a motivated Junior Controls Engineer to support the design, development, and commissioning of automated systems. This role is ideal for a recent graduate or early-career engineer looking to build hands-on experience in industrial automation, PLC programming, and control system design.

Key Responsibilities
•    Assist in the design and development of control systems for automated equipment 
•    Support PLC and HMI programming, testing, and debugging 
•    Participate in system commissioning, factory acceptance tests (FAT), and site acceptance tests (SAT) 
•    Work with electrical schematics, wiring diagrams, and panel layouts 
•    Troubleshoot control system issues and support root cause analysis 
•    Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams 
•    Document system designs, changes, and technical procedures 
•    Ensure compliance with safety standards and company procedures

Key Requirements
•    Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, or related field 
•    1–2 years of experience in a similar role (internships considered) 
•    Basic understanding of PLC programming (Siemens, Allen-Bradley, Omron) 
•    Familiarity with industrial communication protocols (Modbus, Profibus, Ethernet/IP) 
•    Ability to read and interpret electrical drawings 
•    Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail

Desirable Experience
•    Experience with SCADA or HMI systems 
•    Exposure to motion control or robotics 
•    Knowledge of industrial safety standards (CE marking, machine safety) 
•    Basic programming knowledge (Python, C, or structured text)

In-house Junior Vision Engineer (Machine Vision)


Location: Dublin
Details: full time, permanent, Monday to Friday


Role Overview
We are seeking a Vision Engineer to support our growing machine vision business. This role combines technical expertise, application engineering, and customer interaction.
The successful candidate will work closely with our Key Account Managers to support customers by demonstrating machine vision solutions, conducting feasibility testing, and designing tailored vision systems.

Key Responsibilities
•    Application Engineering.
•    Perform vision testing and proof-of-concept work in the office/lab.
•    Capture images, test lighting configurations, and evaluate inspection reliability.
•    Document test results and present findings to customers and sales teams.
•    System Design & Specification.
•    Design complete machine vision solutions, including:

  • Cameras
  • Lenses
  • Lighting
  • Controllers
  • Software

•    Prepare technical specifications and system proposals.
•    Support customers and integrators with system architecture and implementation.

Technical Support
•    Provide technical assistance during system installation and commissioning.
•    Troubleshoot vision system issues when required.
•    Maintain up-to-date knowledge of machine vision technologies and products.


Candidate Profile
Essential
•    Degree or diploma in Engineering, Automation, Mechatronics, Electronics, Computer Vision, or related field.
•    Strong interest in machine vision and industrial automation.
•    Ability to work directly with customers and explain technical solutions clearly.
•    Hands-on problem-solving ability and experimental mindset.
•    Full valid EEA driving licence.
